Go Red For Dyslexia - Friday 15th October
13 Oct 2021
This Friday, 15th October, staff and students are invited and encouraged to wear something red in support of Dyslexia Awareness Month. The children can wear a red shirt with their sports shorts for example, come completely in red or just wear a red hairband or accessory.
Here's a special Dyslexia Awareness message from our Youth Ambassadors and Rising Stars. While ongoing lockdowns and restrictions thwarted their plans for a BIG event in 2021, this has not dampened their enthusiasm. We hope you enjoy this special message from our amazing Youth Ambassadors and Rising Stars.

October is Mental Health Month
06 Oct 2021
This year's theme is Tune In!
This October we encourage you all to Tune In to your mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether you may have a lived experience of mental ill-health or not. Mental Health Month also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help seeking behaviours when needed. Learn more about ways you can Tune In this month - https://buff.ly/3uq6Gv0
World Mental Health Day – 10 October – is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. The theme for this year's campaign is to encourage people to “Look up, look out, and look forward!” by noticing their surroundings, taking care of others, and having activities on the horizon to feel enthusiastic about.
There has recently been media attention around the negative impact of social media on young people. To learn practical strategies to support your children to have a positive experience when online you can register for one of the numerous free eSafety parent webinars on Digital technologies and Mental Health and Online Gaming.
Return to Term 4 - Schools at Level 3 Restrictions
05 Oct 2021
Dear Parents and Carers
I am pleased to inform you that St Joseph’s Primary is returning for Term 4 on Wednesday 6th October for face-to-face learning. We will be returning under Level 3 Restrictions.
Under these restrictions, the wearing of masks is recommended for primary students, however, these will need to be provided from home as they are not mandatory.
Unfortunately under Level 3 Restrictions, parents and carers are still unable to be onsite. We are hopeful that we will see an easing of restrictions as this term progresses. Should this occur, we will communicate this with you.
All other restrictions are the same as they were at the end of Term 3, including drop off, pick up and attending the school office. We ask that you maintain physical distance and wear masks at all times around the school.
I ask you to keep in your thoughts and prayers those who may be unwell at this time and all involved in responding to the COVID-19 situation. Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we navigate this evolving situation.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Want to know more about how we can all play our part?
Children thrive when we all understand how to play our part in keeping them safe and well. There are many things that we can all do every day in all the different aspects of our lives… in our jobs, in our families, in our neighbourhoods, in our clubs or organisations, and in our social groups.
Click on the image above to the NAPCAN website where you can explore ways that we can all play our part in protecting children.
